Q Manivannan is an Indian-born politician serving as a Member of the Scottish Parliament for the Edinburgh and Lothians East region since the 2026 Scottish Parliament election. Although not a British citizen or permanent resident, Manivannan was eligible to stand for election following changes to the law in 2025. Manivannan is nonbinary, and is one of the first two openly transgender people elected to the Scottish Parliament.
