Paul R. Soglin is an American politician who served as the 50th, 53rd, and 56th mayor of Madison, Wisconsin. A member of the Democratic Party, Soglin served a total of 22 years as mayor in three stints from 1973–1979, 1989–1997, and 2011–2019. He was the Democratic nominee for Wisconsin's 2nd congressional district in 1996 and ran in the 2018 Democratic primary for governor of Wisconsin.
