Panafrican Film and Television Festival of Ouagadougou (FESPACO) is an important biannual African film festival. Its most prestigious award is the Étalon d'or de Yennenga, named in reference to the mythical founder of the Mossi empire. The Étalon d'or de Yennenga is awarded to the African fictional or documentary feature film that best represents "Africa's realities". Originally the festival handed out just one Étalon de Yennenga, however in 2005 it introduced the Étalon d'argent de Yennenga and the Étalon de bronze de Yennenga and renamed the original award Étalon d'or de Yennenga.
