Coronation Street is a British soap opera first broadcast on 9 December 1960. The following is a list of characters introduced in 2019, by order of first appearance. All characters are introduced by series producer Iain MacLeod. The first character to be introduced is Natalie Watkins, an acquaintance of Nick Tilsley, in January, followed by the birth of Bertie Osbourne, the son of Daniel Osbourne and Sinead Tinker and Andrea Abruzzi a hairdresser who applies for a job at Trim Up North. Jan Lozinski, a builder working for Gary Windass, first appears in March, followed by Alina Pop, a love interest for Seb Franklin, in April. The Bailey family – consisting of brothers James Bailey and Michael Bailey, their father Ed Bailey and mother Aggie Bailey – are introduced in June, as well as Kelly Neelan, the daughter of Rick Neelan. Ray Crosby arrives in July, as well as Bernie Winter, the mother of Gemma Winter and Paul Foreman. Gary's client Derek Milligan first appeared in August.
