Wikipedia Overview

Kylesa is an American sludge metal band from Savannah, Georgia. Their music incorporates experimentalism with heavy riffs, drop-tuned guitars and elements of psychedelic rock. The group was established in 2001 by former members of Damad with the addition of Laura Pleasants, who is from North Carolina. Numerous lineup changes have left guitarists Phillip Cope and Laura Pleasants as the only remaining original members. Kylesa went on an indefinite hiatus in 2016 and returned eight years later with a new rhythm section consisting of former Nausea members John John Jesse and Roy Mayorga.
