Great Barr is a large and loosely defined urban area in the north-west of Birmingham, in the county of the West Midlands, England. The area was historically in Staffordshire, and the parts now in Birmingham were once known as Perry Barr, which is still the name of an adjacent Birmingham district along with Oscott. Other parts still known as Great Barr are now in the Metropolitan Boroughs of Walsall and Sandwell, under the wards of Pheasey Park Farm, and Charlemont & Grove Vale, Great Barr, Tamebridge & Yew Tree, and Newton & Valley respectively. Great Barr unofficially includes the areas of: Beacon, Grove Vale, Hamstead, Nether Hall Estate, Newton, Old Oscott, Perry Beeches, Pheasey, Queslett, Tower Hill, Whitecrest Estate, and the surrounding area of where the A34 and A4041 roads meet.
