Extermination battalions or destruction battalions, colloquially istrebitels abbreviated: istrebki (Russian), strybki (Ukrainian), stribai (Lithuanian), were collaborationist paramilitary units under the control of NKVD in the Soviet-occupied Baltic states and western Soviet Union.
