During the Spanish colonial period in the Philippines (1565–1898), dozens of revolts against the Spanish colonial government were made by Indios, Moros, Lumad, Chinese (Sangleys), and Insulares, often with the goal of re-establishing the traditional rights and powers of their respective communities.
