André Roman was an American planter and politician who served as Speaker of the Louisiana House of Representatives and the Governor of Louisiana. A member of the Whig Party, he served as a state representative, Speaker of the House twice, a Parish judge, and as governor from 1831 until 1835 and again from 1839 to 1843. He also served as a delegate to the states constitutional conventions of 1845 and 1852 and was chosen as a representative to the Louisiana Secession Convention in 1861.
