Aed Abu Amro is a Palestinian man from Zeitoun, Gaza. In 2018, a photo of him hurling a rock during the Great March of Return protest against Israeli blockade, taken by photojournalist Mustafa Hassona on 22 October 2018, went viral and became a symbol of Palestinian resistance. The photo has been compared to the 1830 French revolutionary painting Liberty Leading the People.
