The site occupies an area of 145 hectares and serves the area of civil aviation in the south western region of Java. The airfield is conjoined with the Husein Sastranegara air force base of the Indonesian Air Force. Most of the commercial flights operations transferred from this to newly built Kertajati International Airport.
