The Seattle Mariners 1988 season was their 12th since the franchise creation. Their home ballpark was the Kingdome in Seattle, Washington. The team finish in seventh and last place in the American League West with a record of 68–93 (.422). Manager Dick Williams, who later was inducted into the Hall of Fame, was fired in June and replaced by interim manager Jim Snyder, who never again was an MLB manager.
