Island council elections were held in the Canary Islands on 10 June 1987 to elect the 3rd Island Councils of El Hierro, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, La Gomera, La Palma, Lanzarote and Tenerife. All 137 seats in the seven island councils were up for election. They were held concurrently with regional elections in thirteen autonomous communities and local elections all across Spain.
