The 1917 World Series was the championship series of Major League Baseball's (MLB) 1917 season. The 14th edition of the World Series, it was a best-of-seven playoff between the American League (AL) champion Chicago White Sox and the National League (NL) champion New York Giants. The White Sox won the series in six games. The series was played against the backdrop of World War I, which dominated American newspapers both that year and the next.
